J.W. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit on the campus of Shoals Hospital, is the ONLY ACUTE REHABILITATION HOSPITAL in Northwest Alabama. An interdisciplinary team approach, specially trained staff, compassionate care, and evidence based treatment have all helped J.W. Sommer receive accreditation from The Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
At our facility, our staff works together with patients and their families to ensure that their rehabilitation course prepares them to return to functional living. Our staff is highly committed to the goal for the patient to gain independence through strengthening, functional training, and adaptive techniques/equipment training.
